Dr Gareth Davies

Gareth is an Associate Professor and Deputy Head of Department in Swansea University’s School of Management, with research interests in innovation management and regional economic development. He graduated with a Masters in Engineering from Swansea University, also gaining a Maîtrise in Innovation from the University of Angers in France. Upon returning to Swansea he obtained his doctorate, researching innovation models in south west Wales.

He was seconded to support the Welsh Government’s Knowledge Economy Nexus review of academic-industrial links, and has since worked on projects around the world to develop science park and technology transfer models. This work has included Interreg-funded Atlantic Arc and Wales-Ireland project activities to develop application of knowledge networks for innovation, which is now being adapted for use in a number of sectors.

Recently his work has involved architecting the pan-Wales AgorIP and Accelerate projects, the latter for which he was seconded to the Life Sciences Hub Wales to mobilise the initiative on behalf of the pan-Wales partnership. He has also worked on a broad range of industry and government funded projects using disruptive technologies for partners ranging from micro-businesses through to major multinationals, across sectors from construction to creative industries.
